Biography
Christian Loizou is an English Bass-Baritone, studying with Mark Wildman at the Royal Northern College of Music. He is a graduate of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, where he studied with Scott Johnson and Andrew McTaggart.Christian has performed lead roles in college opera productions, most recently as Sirocco in Chabrier's L'Etoile, and next as Le Roi de Trêfles in Prokofiev's L'amour des Trois Oranges.He made his international debut at Wexford Festival Opera in 2023 as a Moroccan Soldier in the world premiere of Tutino’s La Ciociara, and returned in 2024 to play Yeats and The Judge in another world premiere, Caruso’s Lady Gregory in America.When not singing operatic repertoire, Christian is a concert soloist and performs regularly across the UK in recitals and concerts. Christian is generously supported in his studies at the RNCM by an ABRSM Scholarship.
